Cuely Privacy Policy

Cuely (“we”, “us”) is a teleprompter app. This policy explains what we collect, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible — most of your data stays on your device.

Information we collect

• Account info. When you create an account, we store your email address (and display name if provided) to sign you in.
• Your scripts. Scripts you write are stored only on your device. Cuely does not sync or upload your scripts — they never leave your device (except the specific text you choose to send for an AI rewrite, described below).
• Camera, microphone & recordings. Used only while you record yourself with the teleprompter. Videos are saved to your device’s photo library. We do not upload or store your videos.
• Captions / speech. If you enable live captions or voice-paced scrolling, audio is processed by your device’s built-in speech recognition to produce text. We do not store the audio.
• Photos you choose for a product script. In the Product Script feature you may take a photo or pick one of your recent photos. Only the single image you select is sent to our AI provider so it can describe the product, and only when you tap to generate. We do not browse, upload, or store your photo library, and we do not keep the image after the script is returned.
• Creator Profile & Knowledge Base. The details you write about yourself (niche, audience, speaking style, sample script, knowledge base) are stored on your device. They are included with your AI requests so the script sounds like you.
• AI features. When you use an AI feature, the text you submit (your script, topic, product details, creator profile and knowledge base) and, for product scripts, the image you selected, are sent to our AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes the request to the underlying model provider such as DeepSeek or OpenAI) to generate the result, which is returned to you. This content is sent only to produce your result. It is not used for advertising and we do not sell it.
• Crash & error reports. If something goes wrong, we may record the error message, the screen it happened on, the app version, and your account identifier so we can fix it. These reports are automatically deleted after 30 days. They do not contain your scripts.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and our billing provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status — never your card details.
• Remote control. The optional phone remote uses a temporary pairing code to relay button presses between your devices. It carries no personal data and is not stored.

How we use your information

• To provide the app’s features (saving scripts, recording, captions, AI rewrites, subscriptions).
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — account authentication, secure backend functions, and error reports.
• OpenRouter — routes your AI request to the model provider. It receives the text you submit and, for product scripts, the image you selected.
• Model providers reached through OpenRouter (currently DeepSeek for writing and OpenAI when an image is attached) — they process your request to generate the result.
• Apple & RevenueCat — subscription processing.
• Google — only if you choose “Sign in with Google”. Apple — only if you choose “Sign in with Apple”.

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the feature you asked for. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, which removes your account from our systems and wipes your scripts and settings from this device.

Security

Account sessions are stored encrypted on your device. Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS.

Children

Cuely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
